1st transnational meeting in Umag, Croatia

1st transnational meeting in Umag, Croatia
The first transnational meeting was organised in Umag, Croatia (16-20.11.2015). Three teachers: Małgorzata Jakubczyk -a headteacher, Ewa Pikus - project coordinator and a teacher Olga Zyzman-Ponikowska took part in it.

Umag is a picturesque town in Croatia, located on the coast of the Istrian peninsula. There are some historical buildings and monuments. During our stay in Umag we observed the Croatian educational system. We participated in lessons. Especially we enjoyed the correlation of music with mathematics and physics.

We had the opportunity to learn some facts about culture and history of this country. We visited the charming town Roc from the 11th century. We took part in art workshops there – we together with teachers from partner countries made a project logo using the fresco technique.
We also visited Hum - the smallest city in the world from the 12th century. There we enjoyed the spontaneous concert of the Croatian coordinator Ileana. Another place that we saw was the city situated on 7 hills - Pula with a beautiful ancient amphitheatre.

The highlight of the visit was the project opening ceremony, which was attended by representatives of local authorities. For the first time we could hear the anthem of the project. It consists of six stanzas written in English. The authors of the lyrics are the pupils of each school. The results of the competition for the logo design were announced then. The winner was the Greek school.

During the visit, we exchanged experiences about the project and conducted the evaluation of current activities and planned another ones.

We are very grateful to the whole school community from our partner school in Umag with the coordinator Ileana Perosa for the wonderful preparation of the project meeting and creating an exceptionally warm and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for your hospitalibility. The visit was a great experience and full of great memories.
