3rd PROJECT MEETING IN TOMELLOSO, SPAIN

On 25-27.10.2016 a delegation of Szkoła Podstawowa in Nowa Słupia took part in the third international meeting of the project "GOAL". The School was represented by a project coordinator Ewa Pikus and teachers: Agnieszka Pawlik-Osuch and Olga Zyzman-Ponikowska. The visit was organized by partner school CEIP José Antonio, which is located in Tomelloso (central Spain).
The main purposes of the meeting were summarizing the project activities for the period May-October 2016, detailed planning and project discussion. On Tuesday, there was an official welcome at school. The first thing that caught our attention after opening the school door were wonderful decorations made by children hanging everywhere in the building. The greetings "CZEŚĆ" (Hi – in English), Polish flags and maps of our region with pointed Nowa Słupia, posters of the Holy Cross Monastery were on every wall and woke our emotion.
Due to the warm, sunny weather, an official welcome meeting was held in the courtyard of the school. The partner schools delegations were welcomed by the school principal and the mayor of the town. Then the students greeted each country flying flags, they were accompanied by the national anthem of each partner country. After that, each class presented a dance to folk tunes and popular songs.
We learnt the culture, history and national tradition of Spain. On Wednesday we participated in a trip to the city of Toledo located by the river Tag. We admired the beautiful view of the city and did a lot of sightseeing.
We tasted Spanish cuisine and admired a flamenco dancer – a pupil.
On Thursday there were organized sport competitions connected with paralympics in which each student, and the teacher could feel how to be a person physically disabled or blind. The games of basketball or sitting volleyball weren't even for us, healthy people, easy tasks.

We experienced a very warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. We are grateful to the principal, the teachers and students of Spanish school for the wonderful preparation of the visit.
